From Pumping Test to Solar Water Pumping design – Onsite
Objectives
Review of relevant principles of applied hydrogeology, with particular emphasis on optimized exploitation, developing an understanding of the hydrogeological concepts applicable anywhere (water balance, aquifer characterization, resource evaluation, groundwater flow dynamics, groundwater protection)
From design of pump test to interpretation: the ‘safe yield’
Understand the close link between pumping tests/energy consumption and solar water scheme design
Design a solar water scheme based on the result of the pumping test
Hand-on field exercise in building up a complete solar water supply scheme
Carry out cost calculations for optimization purposes
