Solar Panel / Auxiliary Battery to Fan (“pigtailed”)
| Answer pending
This project is microscale:
I have a 12v solar panel powering a 6″ 12v DC fan, … that gathers heat from the peak of my small greenhouse, transfers it via an insulated duct, to the “cabinet” that houses my adjacent anaerobic digester (to assist in maintaining an ambient heat for the digester).
I want to also power that same fan with a battery at night to use the residual heat left in the greenhouse.
Can I simply use a pig tail connection to both the solar panel and battery (battery turned off while sun is out)?
How is the battery affected by the solar panel when both circuits are on (but no sun)?
Thanks!
