Donor Actions on the Prioritisation of Energy Needs – Study
Globally, 675 million people do not have electricity access, 2.3 billion are without clean cooking solutions, and current progress suggests that SDG7 will not be achieved by 2030.
Off-grid displacement settings and onset drought situations are two scenarios which not only have significant energy access challenges but are also at the frontier of climate change and host many of the most at-risk communities on our planet.
The purpose of this report is twofold; first, to assist humanitarian donors to better understand appropriate, modern, sustainable, and reliable energy systems and services in off-grid displacement settings and drought-prone regions, and second, to explore how donors can more effectively address the energy priorities, needs, and aspirations of these groups in these settings.
