User notes for emergency kits 2020

Three solar pumping kits have been developed for use in emergencies. They are meant to be a quick reference for emergency deployment of pre-assembled solar pumping kits, especially suited for rapid emergencies where there is no time or possibility to take measurements and follow the usual design steps. The performance ranges indicated on each kit are meant to be a rough guidance and should not be taken to be the actual installed performance. These estimated performance ranges are summarized below, more details are on each emergency kit.

  • Large Submersible Solar Pump kitThe Large Submersible Solar Pump Kit is a 7.5kW pump with all the necessary components that can provide between 33 to 113 m3/day, for 80 to 180meters of Head. The solar power requirement will be determined according to available solar energy (irradiation) in the given geographical location.
  • Medium Submersible Solar Pump kit: The Medium Submersible Solar Pump Kit is a 4kW pump with all the necessary components that can provide between 19 to 69 m3/day, for 60 to 140meters of Head. The solar power requirement will be determined according to available solar energy (irradiation) in the given geographical location.
  • Small Submersible Solar Pump kit: The Small Submersible Solar Pump Kit is a 1.4kW (Grundfos) or 1.7kW (Lorentz) pump with all the necessary components that can provide between 5 to 29 m3/day, for 40 to 120meters of Head. The solar power requirement will be determined according to available solar energy (irradiation) in the given geographical location.
